Spardium 200mg

Description

• Active Ingredient: Each film-coated, scored tablet of Spardium contains 200mg Sparfloxacin.
•  Spardium is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible microorganisms in the following conditions:
  • Nosocomial & Community Acquired Pneumonia
  • Lower & Upper Respiratory Tract Infections
  • Acute Bacterial Exacerbation of Chronic Bronchitis
  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
  • Gonococcal & Non-Gonococcal Urethritis
  • Urinary Tract & Gynecological Infections
• Dosage and Administration:
  • Sparfloxacin can be taken with or without food.
  • The recommended daily dose of sparfloxacin in patients with normal renal function is 400mg on the first day as a loading dose.
  • Thereafter, one 200mg tablet should be taken every 24 hours for a total of 5-10 days depending on the type of infection and the resolution of symptoms.
  • The duration of therapy is usually 5 days for most infections. Urinary Tract Infection requires treatment for 3 days, while the treatment for non-gonococcal urethritis and pelvic inflammatory diseases is for 7 days. Typhoid fever may require treatment for up to 10 days. In non-complicated Gonococcal Urethritis, the dose is 200mg as a single dose.
