- Fibromyalgia: Used in the management of fibromyalgia-related pain.
- Adjunctive Therapy for Adult Patients with Partial-Onset Seizures: Used alongside other medications for seizure control.
- Dosage:
- The recommended starting dose is 75 mg twice a day or 150mg once a day.
- Precautions:
- Heart Failure Risk: Exercise caution when co-administering pregabalin with thiazolidinedione antidiabetic drugs, as they can cause weight gain and fluid retention.
- Kidney Function: Adjust the dose based on renal function (creatinine clearance).
- Avoid Abrupt Discontinuation: Gradually taper off the medication to prevent withdrawal symptoms.
- Avoid Alcohol: Alcohol may enhance the sedative effects of pregabalin.
