Febo-G (febuxostat)

Description

Indication

Febo-G is primarily used for the long-term management of hyperuricemia in patients with gout.

Dosage:

• Adults: The typical starting dose is 40 mg once daily. If serum uric acid levels are not adequately controlled, the dose may be increased to 80 mg once daily.

Side Effects

Commom side effects includes;

• Nausea
• Joint pain
• Rash
• Liver function abnormalities

Serious side effects include;

• Heart-related issues (e.g., chest pain, abnormal heartbeat)
• Severe allergic reactions (e.g., swelling, difficulty breathing)

Precautions

• Heart Disease: Patients with a history of heart disease should use Febo-G caution to an increased risk heart-related death.
• Liver Function: Regular monitoring of of liver function is recommended as Febo-G can cause liver damage.
• Drug Interactions. Febuxostat should not be taken while you are using certain other medicines. Before taking febuxostat, tell your healthcare provider about any prescription or over-the-counter (OTC) medicines, vitamins/minerals, herbal products, and other supplements you are using.
• Pregnancy and Breastfeeding: The safety of Febo-G during pregnancy and breastfeeding has not been established
