Chlorxy-G Gel

Description

• Composition: Each gram of the gel contains 40mg of Chlorhexidine. It is formulated as 7.1% Chlorhexidine Digluconate, which effectively delivers 4% Chlorhexidine.
• Indication: CHLORXY®-G Gel is primarily used for umbilical cord care in newborns. Applying this gel to the umbilical cord stump helps prevent infections over an extended period and contributes to saving newborn lives. Chlorhexidine, a bisbiguanide antiseptic and disinfectant, exhibits bactericidal or bacteriostatic properties against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It is particularly more effective against Gram-positive bacteria and some species of pseudomonas.
• Application Procedure:
  1. Ensure the baby is warm and properly wrapped, exposing only the naval area.
  2. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water before handling the gel.
  3. Use the sharp protuberance of the lid to break the inner shield of the tube.
  4. Apply approximately 3g (a circular mass approximately 2.5cm in diameter) of CHLORXY®-G Gel (4% Chlorhexidine) on the cord stump immediately after cord cutting using the index finger.
  5. Repeat the application daily for the next 7 days.
  6. Avoid applying anything else to the cord and keep it clean and dry.
