Description
Calpol Suspension 6+ Years is a liquid medication used to relieve pain and reduce fever in children aged 6 years and above. Its active ingredient is paracetamol (120 mg per 5 ml), which is commonly used for mild to moderate pain such as headaches, teething, earache, and sore throats, as well as to alleviate fever, including that from common colds or flu.
Important points about Calpol 6+:
Dosage:
For children aged 6-8 years: 5 ml (one 5 ml spoonful) up to 4 times a day.
For children aged 8-10 years: 7.5 ml (one 5 ml spoonful + one 2.5 ml spoonful) up to 4 times a day.
For children aged 10-12 years: 10 ml (two 5 ml spoonfuls) up to 4 times a day.
For children aged 12-16 years: 10-15 ml up to 4 times a day.
For adults and children over 16 years: 10-20 ml up to 4 times a day.
Maximum dose: Do not give more than 4 doses in a 24-hour period.
Usage: Leave at least 4 hours between doses. It should not be given to children for more than 3 days without consulting a doctor.
Cautions: Avoid giving Calpol if your child has liver or kidney problems, or is allergic to paracetamol.
