Description

Imodium (Loperamide Hydrochloride 2 mg)

• Active Ingredient: Loperamide HCl 2 mg.
• Form: Oral capsules.
• Quantity: 6 capsules per box.
• Indication: Provides effective relief from diarrhea, including traveler’s diarrhea.
• Mechanism of Action: Acts on mu-opioid receptors in the gut to slow down gut movement, leading to less watery stools and decreased frequency of bowel movements.
• Dosage: For adults, the initial dose is 4 mg after the first loose stool, then 2 mg after each subsequent unformed stool. The maximum daily dose is 16 mg.
• Safety Information: Not for children under 2 years old. Consult a doctor before use if you have liver disease, a fever, mucus in the stools, or a heart rhythm disorder.
