Description
Dexoptic-N eye drop is a combination medication typically used to treat eye infections and inflammation. It contains two active ingredients:
Dexamethasone: a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation, redness, and swelling.
Neomycin: an antibiotic that helps stop bacterial infections.
Uses
Dexoptic-N is commonly prescribed for:
Bacterial conjunctivitis (pink eye)
Eye inflammation following surgery or injury
Other inflammatory eye conditions involving infection
Dosage (Typical)
Adults and children: 1–2 drops in the affected eye(s) every 4–6 hours.
In severe cases: Can be used every 1–2 hours initially, then reduced as symptoms improve.
Always follow the doctor’s instructions or the label on the product. Do not self-medicate.
How to Use
1. Wash your hands before use.
2. Shake the bottle if instructed.
3. Tilt your head back and pull down the lower eyelid.
4. Instill the drop into the pocket of your eye.
5. Close your eyes and press gently at the corner of your eye for 1 minute.
6. Avoid touching the tip of the bottle to prevent contamination.
Precautions
Do not use long-term without medical advice (risk of glaucoma, cataracts).
Not suitable for viral or fungal eye infections.
Inform your doctor if you’re pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a history of eye problems.
