Misopt Eye Drops (Dorzolamide 2%w/v & Timolol Maleate 0.5% w/v)

Misopt is an ophthalmic medication that combines two active ingredients: dorzolamide and timolol.

  • Misopt is a prescription eye drop solution.
  • It contains a combination of dorzolamide (a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor) and timolol (a beta-blocker).
  • Dorzolamide reduces the amount of fluid in the eye, thereby decreasing intraocular pressure.
  • Timolol also reduces eye pressure by blocking beta receptors.
  • The combination helps manage open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension when beta-blocking medicine alone is insufficient.
