Description
Felxicam (Piroxicam) is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to treat pain or inflammation caused by osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis.

- Felxicam (Piroxicam) is available in oral capsule form with dosages of 10 mg and 20 mg.
- The medication is used to alleviate pain and reduce inflammation associated with arthritis.
- Indications:
- Felxicam is primarily indicated for the treatment of osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.
- Ankylosing spondylitis.
- Side Effects:
- Seek emergency medical help if you experience signs of an allergic reaction, such as hives, difficulty breathing, or swelling in your face or throat.
- Severe skin reactions (fever, sore throat, burning eyes, skin pain, red or purple skin rash with blistering and peeling) require immediate medical attention.
- Heart attack or stroke symptoms (chest pain spreading to your jaw or shoulder, sudden numbness or weakness on one side of the body, slurred speech, leg swelling, feeling short of breath) should be taken seriously.
- Other serious side effects include abnormal liver function, stomach bleeding, kidney problems, and low red blood cells (anemia).
- Common side effects may include upset stomach, heartburn, loss of appetite, diarrhea, constipation, dizziness, headache, itching, rash, and ringing in the ears.
- Precautions:
- Do not use Felxicam if you are allergic to it or have had an asthma attack or severe allergic reaction after taking aspirin or another NSAID.
- Felxicam can increase the risk of fatal heart attack or stroke, even in individuals without risk factors.
- Avoid using piroxicam just before or after heart bypass surgery (coronary artery bypass graft, or CABG).
- Be aware that piroxicam may cause stomach or intestinal bleeding, which can be fatal.
