Strepsils Original is a medicated lozenge formulated to provide relief from sore throat and mouth infections. It is one of the classic variants of Strepsils, trusted for its antiseptic properties.
Active Ingredients
1. 2,4-Dichlorobenzyl Alcohol (1.2 mg):
An antiseptic that helps kill bacteria and viruses causing throat infections.
2. Amylmetacresol (0.6 mg):
Another antiseptic that combats infection in the throat and mouth.
Uses
1. Sore Throat Relief:
Soothes throat irritation and pain.
2. Mouth and Throat Infections:
Reduces bacterial and viral load in the affected area.
3. General Throat Discomfort:
Provides comfort for dryness, hoarseness, or minor throat irritation.
Dosage and Administration
Adults and Children (6 years and older):
Dissolve 1 lozenge slowly in the mouth every 2-3 hours as needed.
Maximum: 8 lozenges in 24 hours.
Children under 6 years: Not recommended.
How It Works
The antiseptic ingredients work by killing or inhibiting the growth of bacteria and viruses in the throat and mouth.
