Description
Strepsils Intensive is a medicated lozenge specifically formulated to relieve severe throat pain and inflammation. Unlike regular Strepsils, which primarily soothe the throat, Strepsils Intensive contains an active ingredient that targets inflammation.
Active Ingredient
Flurbiprofen (8.75 mg):
A non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that provides pain relief and reduces inflammation in the throat.
Uses
1. Severe Sore Throat Relief:
Reduces throat pain and swelling.
Eases difficulty swallowing.
2. Throat Infections:
Helps manage symptoms associated with bacterial or viral throat infections.
3. Post-Operative Throat Pain:
Can be used to alleviate throat discomfort after medical procedures like tonsillectomy.
Dosage and Administration
Adults and Children (12 years and older):
1 lozenge every 3-6 hours as needed.
Maximum: 5 lozenges in 24 hours.
Allow the lozenge to dissolve slowly in the mouth; do not chew or swallow whole.
How It Works
Flurbiprofen blocks the production of prostaglandins (chemicals responsible for pain and inflammation).
Provides both pain relief and anti-inflammatory effects within 15-30 minutes, lasting up to 3 hours.
