Description
Indications and Uses:
- Iron deficiency anemias due to various causes (trauma, surgery, menstruation, hookworm infestation, dietary deficiency)
- Increased iron demand during pregnancy, lactation, and childhood growth
- Rapid recuperation during convalescence from illness
- Complaints of weakness, lethargy, and listlessness due to blood iron deficiency.
Dosage:
- Adults: Start with 2 teaspoonfuls three times a day (average case). Prophylactic dose: 1 teaspoonful once or twice daily.
- Children (5-12 years): 1 teaspoonful once or twice a day, or as directed by a physician.
- Recommended use for 30 days or more as per medical advice.
Precautions:
- May cause black discoloration of stools (due to iron content), which is clinically insignificant.
- Avoid prolonged high-dose indiscriminate use to prevent iron overload.
- Not suitable for those allergic to its ingredients.
Side Effects:
- Generally well-tolerated. Some patients may experience gastrointestinal upsets due to iron intolerance.
- Rarely, allergic reactions or rash may occur.

- Keep in a cool, dark place
