ĹIndication

Paracetamol injection is indicated for:

• Relief of mild to moderate painp
• Reduction of fever
• Management of moderate to severe pain when combined with opioid medications

Dosage

The dosage of paracetamol injection varies based on age, weight, and medical condition:

• Adults and adolescents (≥50 kg): 1 gram every 4 to 6 hours, not exceeding 4 grams per day.
• Children and adolescents (less than 50 kg): 15 mg/kg every 4 to 6 hours not exceeding 75 mg/kg per day

Side Effects

Common side effects include:

• Pain at the injection site
• Weakness
• Headache

Serious side effects, though rare, may include:

• Allergic reactions (e.g., skin rashes, itching, swelling of the throat or face)
• Liver damage (especially with overdose)
• Hypotension (low blood pressure)
• Rash

Precautions

• Liver impairment: Avoid use in patients with severe liver disease.
• Alcohol consumption: Use with caution in patients with chronic alcoholism.
• Allergies: Do not use if allergic to paracetamol or any of its ingredients.
