Description
Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) is the natural form of vitamin D that your body produces when exposed to sunlight.
1000 IU (International Units) is a moderate dose, generally considered safe for daily use in healthy adults.
Benefits:
Supports calcium absorption and bone health.
Aids in immune system function.
May improve mood and reduce risk of certain chronic diseases when deficient.
Dosage Guidelines:
Adults: 600–800 IU/day is the general recommendation, but 1000 IU/day is often used, especially in individuals with limited sun exposure or higher needs.
Upper limit: 4000 IU/day for adults (per Institute of Medicine) unless directed by a doctor.
Notes:
Best taken with food containing fat, as it’s fat-soluble.
If you’re unsure of your vitamin D levels, consider a blood test to guide supplementation.
