Description
Danacid Suspension is an antacid used to relieve symptoms of indigestion, heartburn, acid reflux, and upset stomach. It usually contains a combination of aluminum hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide, and sometimes simethicone. These ingredients work by:
Neutralizing stomach acid (aluminum and magnesium compounds)
Reducing gas and bloating (simethicone, if included)
Common Uses:
Acid indigestion
Heartburn
Gastric ulcers (as part of a treatment plan)
Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
Dosage:
Usually 1–2 teaspoons (5–10 mL) taken between meals and at bedtime, or as directed by a doctor.
Shake well before use.
Precautions:
Long-term use can lead to electrolyte imbalances or constipation/diarrhea.
Use with caution in people with kidney problems.
