Description
Indications: It’s indicated for the treatment of mild to moderate infections caused by designated, susceptible bacteria, such as:
- Acute bacterial exacerbations of chronic bronchitis in adults
- Acute bacterial sinusitis in adults
- Uncomplicated skin and skin structure infections in adults
- Urethritis and cervicitis in adults
- Genital ulcer disease in men
- Acute otitis media in pediatric patients (6 months of age and older)
- Community-acquired pneumonia in adults and pediatric patients (6 months of age and older)
Dosage:
- Pediatric dosages vary based on the condition and age of the child.
Side Effects:
- Common side effects may include diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, and headache.
- Serious side effects can include allergic reaction, liver problems and heart issues
Precautions:
- Before taking azithromycin, inform your doctor if you have any allergies, liver problems, heart problems, or low levels of potassium or magnesium.
