Avamys® Nasal Spray

Description

Avamys is a nasal spray containing fluticasone furoate, primarily used to treat symptoms of allergic rhinitis, such as nasal congestion, runny nose, sneezing, and itching. It’s a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation in the nasal passages, providing relief from allergy symptoms.

Common side effects include nosebleeds, nasal irritation, and headaches. Nosebleeds are particularly common when used for extended periods (over six weeks). Serious side effects are rare but can include severe allergic reactions, nasal perforations, and vision issues like cataracts or glaucoma. In children, long-term use may slow growth, so it’s important to monitor for this.
