Description
Tabasil 250mg is a medication containing terbinafine, an allylamine antifungal.
- Uses:
- Tabasil is effective against various fungal infections, including:
- Dermatophytes: It treats fungal infections of the skin, hair, and nails caused by Trichophyton spp., Microsporum spp., and Epidermophyton floccosum.
- Yeasts: It is effective against yeast infections of the skin, primarily those caused by the genus Candida.
- Pityriasis Versicolor: Topical terbinafine appears to be effective in this condition due to Pityrosporum arbiculare
- Tabasil is effective against various fungal infections, including:
- Dosage:
- For dermatological infections:
- Tabasil Cream: Used for interdigital tinea pedis (athlete’s foot), tinea cruris (jock itch), tinea corporis (ringworm), and planter tinea pedis (moccasin type).
- Tabasil Tablet:
- Onychomycosis of the toenail or fingernail:
- Finger nail: 250 mg once daily for 6 weeks.
- Toe nail: 250 mg once daily for 12 weeks.
- Onychomycosis of the toenail or fingernail:

- Side Effects:
- Common side effects may include gastrointestinal symptoms, headache, and skin reactions.
