Description

Bonduretic is a combination diuretic medication containing amiloride hydrochloride and hydrochlorothiazide, designed to treat conditions involving fluid retention and electrolyte imbalances

Uses:

Hypertension (High Blood Pressure):

Helps reduce blood pressure by decreasing fluid volume in the blood vessels.

Edema:

Effective in treating swelling caused by:

Heart failure.

Liver cirrhosis.

Nephrotic syndrome or kidney disorders.

Congestive Heart Failure (CHF):

Manages symptoms by reducing fluid overload.

Mechanism of Action:

Hydrochlorothiazide removes excess fluid and reduces blood pressure.

Amiloride counters the potassium loss caused by hydrochlorothiazide, balancing electrolyte levels.

Dosage:

Usually taken once daily or as prescribed by a doctor.

Dosage may vary depending on the condition being treated.

Take the medication with or after food to reduce stomach upset.

Side Effects:

1. Common:

Increased urination (especially early in treatment).

Dizziness or lightheadedness (due to low blood pressure).
