Description

Indication

Doxazosin is used to treat:

• Hypertension (high blood pressure)
• Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), a noncancerous enlargement of the prostate gland

Dosage

• For BPH: 4 mg or 8 mg extended-release tablets once daily.

Side Effects

• Swelling of the feet, hands, arms, or legs

Precautions

• Low Blood Pressure: Doxazosin can cause low blood pressure, especially when starting the medication or increasing the dose. It’s important to get up slowly from a sitting or lying position to avoid dizziness.
• Surgery: Inform your surgeon if you are taking doxazosin, especially if you are having cataract surgery, as it can affect your pupils.
