Description
Indication
- Hypomer Gel contains Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose which belongs to the group of medicines known as artificial tears.
- It is used to relieve dryness and irritation caused by reduced tear flow.
- It helps prevent damage to the eye in certain eye diseases.
- Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose may also be used to moisten hard contact lenses and artificial eyes.
- In addition, it may be used in certain eye examinations. The gel is indicated for the relief of dry eye conditions and for managing an unstable tear film. Hypomer Gel is a substitute tear fluid for the alleviation of dry eye conditions as well as for the management of an unstable tear film.
Side Effect
- While hypomer is well tolerated, some users may experience burning, stinging, allergic reaction, red eyes after instillation ortransient bluring of vision.
Dosage & Administration
- For dry eyes, the recommended dosage is 1 drop in the conjunctival sac of the affected eye(s) as needed. The frequency depends on the severity of the condition, averaging 1-3 times daily.
Precautions
- For eye drops: If you experience eye pain, changes in vision, continued redness, or irritation that persists for more than 3 days or worsens, consult your doctor.
- For eye gel: Ensure the product’s sterility before use. Remove all product by irrigation and/or aspiration at the end of the procedure.
