PEPTIKIT – 7 Days Treatment Pack

Composition:

• Lansoprazole; A gastric proton pump inhibitor. It inhibits the final stage of gastric acid formation by inhibiting the activity of H+/K+ ATPase of the parietal cells in the stomach.
• Clarithromycin: A semi-synthetic derivative of erythromycin A. It exerts its antibacterial action by selectively binding to the 50s ribosomal sub-unit of susceptible bacteria preventing translocation of activated amino acids.
• Tinidazole: An active against both protozoa and obligate anaerobic bacteria. The activity against protozoa involves Trichomonas vaginalis, Entamoeba histolytica and Giardia lamblia.

Uses:

• It is used in the treatment of Peptic ulcer disease caused due to an infection of the gastrointestinal tract by Helicobacter Pylori bacteria.

Dosage:

• Take as prescribed by a healthcare professional.
• Each dose typically contains 2 capsules of Lansoprazole, 2 capsules of Clarithromycin, and 2 tablets of Tinidazole.

Side Effects:

• Tiredness, headache, nausea, stomach pain diarrhoea, vomiting, a sensation of dryness and a metallic taste in the mouth. Avoid taking Pepti Kit if you are allergic to it. It may sometimes cause drowsiness, so it is advised that you do not drive vehicles or operate machines after taking this medicine.
• Consult your doctor if any side effects persist or worsen.

Precautions:

• Should be taken half an hour before food to avoid stomach irritation.
• Take this medicine as prescribed by your doctor.
• Do not stop taking it without consulting your doctor even if you feel better after taking a few doses.
• Avoid alcohol consumption while taking this medicine to avoid the ‘Disulfiram reaction’ which may cause excessive nausea, drowsiness, chest pain and breathing difficulty.
• Not recommended during pregnancy without medical advice.
• It is not recommended for use if you have kidney problems.
• Besides using this medicine, lifestyle modifications like the consumption of cold milk and avoiding hot caffeinated drinks like coffee or spicy foods may help alleviate your symptoms.
